This is my first painting done with a knife. It took a few classes in the fall of 2011 to finish as I was such a novice with this technique. It is an arcylic on a 12 x 16 gallery wrapped canvass. Lessons learned were various methods to hold the knife to create the feeling you want, creating a misty atmosphere in the mountains and the importance of shadowing.
